CONSULTATION SERVICES For many years Rebecca and Jane have given their time freely and without obligation to anyone who has requested information on their Norman Lindsay works be that regarding authenication, valuation and history. This demand has increased to the point where it is affecting our ability to earn a living as we seem to have become the unpaid "Norman Lindsay free advice experts" to one and all. We do not begrudge any single instance, but when it is twenty to thirty times a day, you can perhaps understand the practical need to charge for our time for information consultations. If you have a Norman Lindsay work you would like more information on, please email us with an image and all details you have including the history of the work (how you came to have it). For an initial charge of $11, we will give you as much information as we can on your work. In your email, you will need to include credit card details and your card will be charged before your email answered. We will, in our turn, give you as much detailed information on your work as we can including sales history of similar items through auction records. Should your work turn out to be a page out of a book or other reproduction the charge will still be incurred due to the time spent in giving you the information on it. |

1973 Lin Bloomfield founded Bloomfield Galleries in Sydney, first at Crows
Nest and from 1975 to 1994 in Paddington. The gallery exhibited established
and up-and-coming artists with solo and group exhibitions. Major exhibitions
included Norman Lindsay, Frank Hinder, Ralph Balson, Bill Pidgeon and Vincent
Brown. Other artists represented by the gallery were Jeremy Gordon, Angus
Nivison, Hadyn Wilson, Liz Cumming, Charlie Cooper, Barry Otto and Ruth
Faeber. From 1995 to 1999 the gallery operated from premises in North Sydney and from 2000 Bloomfield Galleries relocated to premises in Bungendore, near Canberra. Odana Editions was established in 1974 originally as the publishing arm of Bloomfield Galleries. The Norman Lindsay Facsimile Etchings were the first foray into publishing for Odana. From the publication of Odana's first book, Frank Hinder: Lithographs in 1978, Odana Editions has developed into an independent, premier fine art publisher of high quality books on Australian artists and limited edition art reproductions by Norman Lindsay. Major published works include The Complete Etchings of Norman Lindsay in 1998, Norman Lindsay Etchings: Catalogue Raisonné in 1999. These were followed by Norman Lindsay: Watercolours 1897-1969 in 2003 and Norman Lindsay: Oil Paintings in 2006. Odana published Rose Lindsay's two books in one volume titled Rose Lindsay: A Model Life in 2001 and in the same year released Norman Lindsay: Artful Cats. In 2003 Norman Lindsay: Watercolours 1897-1969 was released followed by Norman Lindsay: Oil Paintings 1889-1969 in 2006. 2008 saw the release of Norman Lindsay: 80 Years of Pencil Drawing. These three monographs were all researched and written by Lin. Future publications include a companion volume to The Complete Etchings of Norman Lindsay on Norman's lithographs and woodblocks written by Robert Holden and monographs on Norman's pen and ink drawings, again by Lin. Lin researches, writes and edits the majority of Odana Editions' books as well as being a company director. Jane and Rebecca Bloomfield (Lin's daughters) now run the gallery and publishing business. The move to Bungendore, in our own premises, has strengthened our ability to continue publishing and exhibit and sell original works of art. |
